Sandyhill

Sandyhill is one of Ottawa’s wealthier and prestigious neighbourhoods where former Prime Ministers Sir John A. MacDonald and Sir Wilfred Laurier once resided as well as other notable Canadians. Most of the homes in this beautiful and historic community were built between 1900 and 1950 with a large number of attached homes added in the 1980-90s. Detached homes vary in price from $475K-$1.3Mill+ and attached homes range from $350K-$800K.

Residents of Sandyhill benefit from an active community association which hosts yearly events including the Winter Carnival and Craft Fair, Fall BBQ, Halloween Haunted House, Spring Fair, and others. There are many excellent schools in Sandyhill, the Viscount Alexander Public School being the most notable. For adults, the Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Institute and the University of Ottawa offer higher education courses and accreditation. Churches in Sandyhill include All Saints Anglican, Ottawa Church of Christ, St. Alban’s Anglican, Ottawa Mandarin Alliance Church, St. Clement Catholic, St. Paul’s Eastern United, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and the Hare Krishna Temple.
